BY MURRAY MANDRYK, THE LEADER-POST

Ask youthful Ryan Meili how his bid for the Saskatchewan NDP leadership relates to the doctrine of the 75-year-old Regina Manifesto and the serious-minded, soft-spoken, Saskatoon doctor offers a pretty humourous answer.
"We have the same initials," Meili said of the Regina Manifesto. "It's 75 (years old) and was born in 1933 and I'm 33 and was born in 1975."
But Meili is quick to add that the Depression-era proclamation heralding the arrival of Canada's first social democratic party is not completely irrelevant to today's NDP because the principle of "working together towards a common good" as a tool of change remains rather applicable.
